The dominant idea was change and how teachers can help learners or how learners can help themselves solve a problem using a different and pragmatic solution. Going from what is - the chaos of English spelling vs. pronunciation - to what could be - a simple and intuitive method of decoding that chaos. The method is using Portuguese sounds to transcribe English pronunciation. In other words, going from Portuguese to English.
The presentation also marked the launch of version 3 of my e-dictionary with four basic improvements:
- a new title (From Portuguese to English: Pronunciation Made Easy)
- a new cover
- separation of the syllables in the sound transcription
- the stressed syllable in bold.
The separation of the syllables is helpful, but the stressed syllable in bold is even more helpful, because English is a stress-based language.
I hope you enjoy the presentation and consider trying out the strategy that worked wonders for my students. If you do, please send me your feedback.

If you like my strategy, why not buy the dictionary with over 3500 words? And with your suggestions, we can always keep increasing it.
Enjoy pronouncing! :-)
