Today, though, I want to tell you about a "radical" course I'm taking. A EU Academy course titled Future Classroom Scenarios. It started on July 28, but you can still register. It's 6 weeks long. We finish Module 3 tomorrow, Aug 17.
Here's a quote from the Introduction to the course. "The Future Classroom Scenarios course aims to introduce teachers, headteachers and ICT coordinators in schools to concepts, tools, and exchanges about the future classroom. The course is designed in response to the increasing challenges faced by educators around the world to accommodate the rising importance of technology in education and the impact this has on teaching and learning."
It's been a breath of fresh air because of a totally different perspective of the courses/MOOCs I've been taking in the past year. Those have focused mostly on tools. This one has focused more on the concepts about the future classroom and on ideas already in practice throughout Europe. There is a lot of food for thought and reflection is constantly requested of the participants. Naturally, the tools are also there. But they're not the main element. I've been iintroduced to some very interesting edtech tools.
Do take a look and consider registering! :-)
