In this post I'll be listing a significant number of marketing ideas and strategies shared in previous blog posts. I hope they can be of help.

  • marketing is strongly rooted in trust and relationships
  • importance of credibility
  • importance of starting a tribe, of putting yourself out there, which is an ongoing process
  • build relationships, friendships and trust
  • importance of creating and growing an email list
  • importance of generating great content
  • importance of honesty and authenticity
  • giving away a book for free to help build an email list, a most valuable element
  • the title is a very important part of a book
  • market your books through the channels that your target audience is more likely to use

Self-Publishing Success Summit

15/7/2015

The Self-Publishing Success Summit hosted by Chandler Bolt started on July 12 with the kick-off session and will go on till July 23. Everything happens online and is free.
You have the chance to listen to 37 authors and entrepreneurs talk about how to write, market & publish, and monetize (make money with) your first book. They all speak from experience.
Most days have 4-5 live sessions. If you can't attend a webinar you're interested in, the recording of the Google Hangout is uploaded very quickly and remains available for 3 days (72 hours).
I believe this is a fabulous opportunity for people like me who are really interested in the self-publishing online world.
I'm not going to publish my first book, because I have two published books in Portugal and self-published my third book, a pronunciation e-dictionary of English for Portuguese-speaking learners, in Sep. 2014. However, there's always a lot to learn from such an event and, hopefully, help me correct aspects of my first self-publishing experience.
Why attend? Let me pick some ideas from their website.
1. "Learn directly from people who've done it (and reduce your learning curve)"
2. "Expert speakers [who give you] instant takeaways and actionable advice you can use immediately"
3. "Make valuable connections".
Attend the webinars from the comfort of your home or office.
I've listened to three webinars (replays) so far and it's been well worth it.
Last but not least, I'll be writing a different post about each webinar I attend with the main ideas, especially those that influenced me most. Hope this is useful to my readers.
Enjoy!
